Tarkio Gorge:  A Scenic Float Trailing Ice Age Floods
The Clark Fork River tells the story of Glacial Lake Missoula and great ice age floods as it threads west through the Missoula Valley. Downstream of  theAlberton Gorge's rollicking rapids the Clark Fork meaners through the more placid Tarkio Gorge.  Watch for osprey, bald eagles and the occasional elk as you drifter through this canyons peaceful and beautiful scenery.
