One of our favorites. A quiet, beautiful canyon with wildlife and Montana scenery. Home to eagles, osprey, elk, moose and deer. We love to float this section first thing in the morning or in the evening for better wildlife viewing. It has a few fun splashes but is perfect for a relaxing family trip with great places to swim and soak up the stunning Montana scenery along the way.
The Clark Fork River flows through the heart of Missoula and winds westward through the valley towards the Alberton Gorge. We offer a variety of scenic raft, kayak and SUP options within minutes of Missoula. Experience the wild beauty and peacefulness of Montana just minutes from town in the relaxing flow of this wonderful river. Trips daily.
The Bitterroot meanders for miles twoards Missoula through the beautiful Bitterroot Valley along the Lewis and Clark Trail. We lived right on the Bitterroot for 14 years and came to love it’s quiet beautiy and the abundance of wildlife it supports. A variety of trips available. We provide brunch, lunch or dinner depending on the time of day.
When river levels drop the Alberton Gorge whitewater becomes less intimidating while still splashy and fun. The scenery is absolutely incredible. So we may recommend this as a scenic option during late summer. It’s still splashy- so you will get wet. In between rapids you and your guests will enjoy the spectacular surroundings and watch for eagles, osprey, kingfishers, moose, deer, bear and mountain lions. The Gorge is a great family float. Younger kids (ages 6 and up) and older folks can ride in bigger rafts for a milder float while people who want a wilder ride will go in smaller paddle rafts. After running legendary rapids like cliffside, Tumbleweed, and Fang, guests can swim, relax and soak up the sun and scenery.
