Please call our reservations office at 406-722-7238. We run trips daily and can accommodate you if you’re on your own or organizing an adventure for a large group. 50% deposit is required for all reservations. Deposits may be made with a credit card or must be received in our office within 10 days of reservation. We accept all major credit cards. For trips of under 10 people, guests can change their reservation up until 48 hours before the trip without risking their deposit or trip fee. Cancellations within 48 hours of trip departure forfeit the deposit. Cancellations the day of the trip are charged the full cost of the trip. We reserve the right to cancel trips with a full refund due to weather, water levels (too high or low) or insufficient participants.
Weather
We run our trips and classes rain or shine. During our summer raft trips, the weather is usually beautiful. Rain showers if the do occur usually pass quickly, so don’t get discouraged if the weather looks overcast the day of your trip. If it does happen to be overcast or raining the day of your trip we have complimentary splash jackets and wetsuits available at our shop. Consider bringing along a fleece, wool or non-cotton layer to wear.
Online Reservations
For your convenience, we offer online booking. When you reserve online you are charged the full amount of the trip. Please check in by phone or email if you do not receive a confirmation call/note from us.
Group Reservations Policy
Your deposit will confirm your reservation for your trip and date. Groups of 10 or more must pay the balance of their trip fee two weeks prior to departure. Groups also have 14 days prior to their trip to cancel with no charge. Cancellations within 14 days of departure forfeit the trip fee. Cancellations within two weeks of the trip date or no-shows the day of the trip will be charged the full price of the trip. We realize your group size may change. Please let us know final group numbers at least 48 hours before trip departure.
Trip organizers for groups of over 15 people go for free.
Normal daily trip departure times are 9 am for morning half day and full day trips, and 2 pm for afternoon trips. We regularly adjust the departure times to better accommodate a group’s schedule.

Your Responsibility
Although every precaution is taken to safeguard you and your belongings, river trips by their nature involve a certain amount of risk. Montana River Guides and its personnel shall assume no responsibility whatsoever for injuries, damages, losses or delays to person or property. We require that you acknowledge these risks by reading and signing a liability release prior to departure. We are not responsible for items lost or left on premises.
Who can Go?
Let Bernice and our office staff help you decide which river trip will be most appropriate for your group. At normal flows, the Alberton Gorge is a perfect family whitewater trip. We take ages five and up. Younger kids and older folks or families wanting a more civilized ride can go in bigger rafts for a milder float while people who want a wilder ride will go in smaller paddle rafts. We monitor flows daily and during high water conditions in May and early June, we sometimes restrict trips to guests ages 16 and up.
