About the Author

Mike & Bernice Johnston created Montana River Guides in 1994 to guide whitewater & scenic raft trips near Missoula on the Alberton Gorge & Blackfoot River. The goal was to set the standard for professionalism in Montana's whitewater industry. MRG is known for guiding high quality river trips near Missoula and being a leader in swift water rescue and river instruction. Over the years our many incredible guides have left their mark by setting an example for the rest of us in how to guide rivers, treat our guests and treat each other. Each year we honor the legacy of those guides and strive to build a new team of guides that works hard, has fun and creates the best trips possible for or clients. We build our team on the cornerstones of kindness, professionalism, humility and a shared love for our rivers.
