Missoula’s Best Raft Trip: The Alberton Gorge
Summer river conditions are prime right now for whitewater rafting in Missoula on the legendary Alberton Gorge. The river is flowing higher than last summer at about 4800 cubic feet per second. This is a great level for fun family whitewater raft trips or for adrenaline packed whitewater kayak or river board trips. Cliffside, Triple Bridges, Tumbleweed and Fang are all rollicking. There are slower sections for cooling off and swimming beneath the gorge’s towering canyon walls.
The Alberton Gorge is considered Montana’s best summer whitewater raft trip because of it’s high volume, fun rapids and incredible canyon setting. It’s not roadside and has plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities to go along with the fun rapids and stunning views. This is national park caliber beauty without the crowds.
