RAFT GUIDE SCHOOLS: These five day Raft Guide Schools are designed for people wanting to lead river trips or become professional raft guides. We focus on safety, reading water, and guiding paddle rafts through Class II, III and IV whitewater. Topics include trip preparation, safety talks, equipment, and boat rigging. Learn paddle commands, guide strokes, rowing and boat handling.  Instructors combine river instruction with a certified Whitewater Rescue Technician class the first three days. On days four and five you’ll guide whitewater raft trips on the Blackfoot River and Alberton Gorge.  After a short lecture and discussion on the first morning, we spend the rest of the week on the river all day, every day. We’ll check in with you ahead of time to get an idea of your experience and goals for the class.
The Raft Guide School is hosted at the Alberton Gorge Ranch and includes a Whitewater Rescue Technician certification and certificate of completion.  We are really excited for the upcoming season of Swiftwater rescue training, Raft Guide Schools, Rafting Workshops and Youth Adventure Camps.  Montana River Guides has been hosting these clinics since 1995.
